Beginner's Guide
Everything you need to know to start playing Taxi Swiper and progress like a pro.
Getting Started
Taxi Swiper is a driving game set on real city streets from OpenStreetMap. You start with a Scooter and deliver food to earn money. As you progress, you unlock faster vehicles with unique game modes — taxi rides, police chases, fire rescue, bus routes, package delivery, VIP transport, and waste collection.
Basic Controls
- Mobile: Swipe in any direction to steer. Your vehicle follows the nearest road. Tap a pickup card to accept an order.
- PC: Use WASD or arrow keys to steer. Click on pickup cards. Press Space to open the map.
- Map: Pinch with two fingers (mobile) or press Space (PC) to open the full city map. Green markers show pickups, red markers show destinations.
Your First Delivery
- When the game loads, you'll see a pickup card appear near your scooter
- Tap the card to accept the food delivery order
- Drive toward the green marker — that's the restaurant
- Once you pick up the food, a red marker appears — that's the customer
- Deliver before the timer runs out to earn money and a star rating
Quick Tips
Driving off-road (water, green areas) costs you a life. Stick to streets and bridges.
Each delivery has a time limit. Faster deliveries earn more money and better ratings.
The earning upgrade gives you more money per delivery. It pays for itself quickly.
Open the map to plan your route. It shows where pickups and destinations are.
Deliver quickly for higher ratings. Your average rating shows up on the leaderboard.
Daily login streaks give you bonus rewards. Don't break the chain!
Fire Truck and Bus have more max lives. Upgrading lives keeps you in the game longer.
Challenges give bonus cash. Check the menu to see your active challenges.
NPC cars block your path and crashing into them costs a life. Steer around them.
Vehicle color skins look cool but don't affect performance. Spend on upgrades first.
Recommended Walkthrough
Here's the optimal path to unlock everything and build your driving empire:
Scooter — Food Delivery Free
You start here. The scooter is slow (25 km/h) but teaches you the basics. Focus on learning the streets of Prague, accepting every delivery, and mastering the swipe controls. You only have 1 life, so stay on the roads!
Goal: Earn $200 to unlock the Taxi.
Taxi — Passenger Rides $200
Your first real vehicle! The taxi goes 54 km/h and introduces passenger rides. Pick up people and drive them to their destination. Time limits are tighter than food delivery, so plan your routes. Upgrade earning early.
Goal: Earn $500 to unlock the Police Car.
Police Car — Chase Missions $500
The fastest vehicle at 70 km/h. Police missions are thrilling but the high speed makes controlling your car trickier. This is where speed upgrades really shine. Buy Rome ($1,000) once you can afford it for fresh streets.
Goal: Earn $1,000 to unlock the Fire Truck (and buy Rome map).
Fire Truck — Rescue Missions $1,000
Slower at 60 km/h but has up to 8 max lives. Fire rescue missions add urgency. Upgrade lives first — this vehicle benefits the most from extra durability.
Goal: Earn $2,000 to unlock the Bus.
City Bus — Route Planning $2,000
The bus is the slowest car-type vehicle at 45 km/h but has up to 8 max lives. Bus routes require you to follow a specific path through the city, picking up and dropping off passengers at stops. Great for learning the map.
Goal: Earn $3,000 for the Van (and buy Paris at $2,500).
Delivery Van — Packages $3,000
At 55 km/h with 5 max lives, the van is a solid all-rounder. Package delivery missions pay well and the larger vehicle handles traffic better. Focus on earning upgrades to maximize income.
Goal: Earn $5,000 to unlock the Limousine.
Limousine — VIP Transport $5,000
The second-fastest vehicle at 65 km/h. VIP passengers pay premium fares but expect smooth driving and fast arrivals. The limo is where big money starts rolling in.
Goal: Earn $8,000 to unlock the Garbage Truck.
Garbage Truck — Waste Collection $8,000
The final vehicle! Slow at 40 km/h but incredibly durable with 10 default lives (up to 30 max). Waste collection is relaxed but rewarding. Once you've unlocked everything, consider prestige!
Goal: Max out upgrades, then prestige for multiplied earnings.
Upgrade Strategy
Each vehicle has three upgrades. Here's the recommended priority:
| Upgrade | Effect | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Earning | +10% income per level | Upgrade first — pays for itself and accelerates all other purchases |
| Speed | +10% top speed per level | Upgrade second — faster deliveries mean better ratings and more orders per session |
| Lives | +1 extra life per level | Upgrade for difficult vehicles (Fire Truck, Bus, Garbage Truck) or if you crash often |
Pro tip: Don't spread upgrades evenly across all vehicles. Focus on your main money-making vehicle first, max its earning upgrade, then move on.
Map Unlocks
Three real-world cities are available, each with unique streets, bridges, and landmarks:
| Map | Cost | When to Buy |
|---|---|---|
| Prague | Free | You start here. Learn the streets before moving on. |
| Rome | $1,000 | Buy after unlocking the Police Car. Fresh streets to explore. |
| Paris | $2,500 | Buy when you have the Bus or Van. The most complex map. |
Prestige System
Once you've unlocked all 8 vehicles, you can prestige — reset your progress in exchange for a permanent earnings multiplier.
- All vehicles and maps are locked again
- Your balance resets to zero
- You keep your prestige level and multiplier permanently
- Each prestige level increases your earning multiplier
When to prestige: Only prestige when you've maxed out the upgrades on your favorite vehicle and feel ready for a fresh run. The multiplier makes your next playthrough significantly faster.
